Sonoco Recycling is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sonoco and a world leader in recycling, collecting 3.5 million tons of paper, plastic, metal and other materials annually. Our history in recycling dates back to the 1920s. Today, we operate more than 40 recycling facilities globally and maintain strategic relationships with more than 15,000 major retailers, manufacturers and municipalities.
We also offer recycling consulting services through S3℠ (Sonoco Sustainability Solutions, LLC). Other recycling programs we provide include programs for tubes and cores, wooden reels and plastic spools.
Residential (MRF)
Sonoco Recycling offers state-of-the-art processing and responsive, dependable service for your municipal program. Currently serving more than 125 cities and towns throughout the United States, we process more than 200,000 tons of curbside materials annually through our material recovery facilities (MRFs) in Charleston, S.C.; Greenville, S.C.; Columbia, S.C.; Onslow, N.C.; Raleigh, N.C.; and Charlotte, N.C. Program management is easy with our web-accessable reporting, tracking and bill payment.

National Chain Accounts
Sonoco Recycling offers national accounts recycling programs with services that extend coast to coast. Recyclable materials can be serviced in full trailer or less than full-trailer quantities of multiple grades. We also provide Web-based reporting and financial stability to ensure ease of doing business.
Government
Sonoco Recycling is registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and welcomes opportunities to work with government agencies such as the Department of Defense and civilian agencies such as the Department of Veteran Affairs and the Department of Justice. We work hard to understand the rights and specific requirements of government agencies, and we’re willing to apply the appropriate resources – financial, staffing, equipment and technology – to successfully support projects.
